Add cyclists cutting through the Boundary streets and the only sensible approach speed is one that lets you stop at a line you have not seen yet.

Is it safe to have a driving lesson in Shoreditch on a Friday or Saturday night?
We do run them, but not for beginners. Late evening on Shoreditch High Street means pedestrians stepping off crowded pavements and taxis stopping without warning. Add the cyclists coming off Curtain Road with no lights and it becomes a genuinely useful late-stage exercise in hazard perception. As a first or second lesson it would put you off driving altogether, so we do not offer it that way.
Is Shoreditch too busy for a first automatic driving lesson?
For a very first lesson, yes. We start on the quieter blocks west of Great Eastern Street, around Willow Street and Paul Street, then bring you onto the High Street once you are steady with the brake. Most people are driving Curtain Road and Kingsland Road comfortably within three or four sessions.
