Do the school-run times really make the High Road unusable?
Not unusable, just unsuitable early on. Bancroft's and Woodford County High both front the A104, and the Green parks up solid at either end of the school day, so a beginner in their second hour gets no room to make mistakes in. Mid-morning and mid-afternoon are the slots to ask for. Later we use the school run deliberately, because dense slow traffic is worth practising in.
