What Progress Looks Like in Canning Town
Manoeuvre practice sits on Hermit Road and Bidder Street, quiet enough for bay parking and half a minute from real traffic. Between those runs you work the A1011 Silvertown Way and Manor Road, where lane choice has consequences rather than just marks. The Wanstead routes then get their own days, once the Canning Town interchange has stopped taking all your attention.
Test standard here means picking your lane before Silvertown Way commits you, and staying settled where the flyover traffic rejoins the island. The run north to Wanstead takes about twenty minutes, so the last sessions can still fit a full mock and have you home by lunch.

There is no gentle warm-up lap here. Leave Hermit Road or Bidder Street and you are on the A124 Barking Road or the Silvertown Way approach inside two minutes, with the interchange beside Bow Creek waiting at the end of it.
That shapes a long session: the first twenty minutes are spent deliberately on the Star Lane back streets, because once you commit to those roads nothing lets you slow down and think.
You are collected on Bidder Street. Control and reversing come first around Hermit Road, then Manor Road north, away from the flyover, for junctions at a sane speed. After the break it is Silvertown Way and the A124, and the last half hour drops back to Star Lane.

Most people in the towers by Bow Creek have never needed a car, and the Jubilee line and the DLR have covered everything right up until the week they do not.
