Collection is on Rosemary Drive, Fernhall Drive or Edwina Gardens, whichever has space at the time. Manoeuvres go in first while the avenues are still quiet. Then Redbridge Lane East north-east to the roundabout at the top where it meets Woodford Avenue, south down the B192 Beehive Lane to the A12, and west along Eastern Avenue to the Redbridge Roundabout. Hours end back in the avenues.
Hospital and school hours, mostly. Staff at Spire London East on Roding Lane South, parents at Beal High School who have decided that another year of the Roding Lane run as a passenger is enough, and Central line commuters from Redbridge station who need a car for everything the tube does not cover, which out here is most weekends.

It is the slowest driving you will do here and the most useful.
The doubt here is that the Redbridge Roundabout will eat the lesson. It will not. Three and four lanes with a flyover over the top is a reading problem, and reading is teachable. You take it straight across from Eastern Avenue several times before you are asked to change lanes on it.

Beal High School, on Woodford Bridge Road, empties several thousand pupils into these streets at once, so Roding Lane South at half three is a genuine test of patience, mirrors and pedestrian awareness. Most hours are booked around it, but one or two are booked into it deliberately, because nothing else nearby produces that density of people and parked cars.
